Lithuanian born, Laura Skemaite has been a New York City based model since January 2010. After late discovery of her modeling talent Laura received significant recognition in six short months. This fall she graced the runway during the NY Mercedes Benz and Couture Fashion Weeks; walking for some of the industries most recognizable names such as Richie Rich, Ivana Helsinki, Anne Bowen, and Andres Aquino. In recognition of her work, Laura was chosen as the PlaneteChic model of the month for October 2010.
Laura is a reporter for AmericaLTV and Mark7Studios. She currently writes an advice column for "Hombre" Magazine, accompanied by a photo spread of her illustrating the topic of her column. She also produces runway fashion shows in New York City with StevenOcean Productions and L&A Fashion Entertainment Producctions. Laura has made appearances on the Vinny Vella talk show, OnTheGrindTV, and is featured in a music video for Prince Malik and Jim Jones. Her immaculate beauty, elegance and grace were verified yet again when she was selected as Miss Lithuania to represent her native country of Lithuania in the Diaspora Models International Beauty Competition in December, 2010.
Outside of modeling and news media, Laura is an accomplished academic, holding a Bachelors degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Caldwell College. Summa Cum Laude graduate was accepted as a lifetime member of the Tri-Beta Biology National Honor Society. Laura is persistently pursuing an education and career in Patent Law.
In her spare time she enjoys cooking, and staying up to date with current scientific discoveries as well as contemporary political and social issues.
